Dan has been one of my favorite songwriters since I was a teenager. He played me this record while we were on tour together last summer and I did a classic "AAAAAAHHHH I HAVE TO PUT IT OUT!" It is all at once beautiful, heavy, uplifting, energizing. It sounds like the product of friends who love music and each other enjoying themselves. It is no small feat for someone making music as long as Dan has to make a record that still feels fresh and full of new ideas.
Credits:
Rick Johnson played bass on most of the songs, and Shannon Toombs sang on some songs. Matt Bennett played all the drums. Dan P. played all the other stuff. The drums were engineered by Michael Rozon at Tomas Kalnoky's recording studio in L.A. The rest was recorded either in Santa Cruz at Dan P.'s apartment or in El Cerrito at Matt and Drew's house (Carl) or in Grand Rapids @ Cold War Studios by Rick Johnson. To The Lions was mastered by Joel Hatstat. Photos were taken by Dan P. and Dan P. did the graphic design on the record, and Jeff Rosenstock fixed it.
